Oldies But Goodies - Mary Hopkins <Those Were The Days>

나이가 들수록 어린 시절이 생각나고 그 때 그 친구들이 보고파진다.

이민 생활이 오래되면 여기서 이리저리 치이다 생긴 친구들도 소중하지만

문득 발 밑에서 뒹구는 낙엽과 검게 변색된 쌀인 눈들을 물끄러미 쳐다보면 가끔 그 때로 돌아가기도 한다.

 

캘거리 토요일 오후.

우중충하기도 한 날씨 때문이기도 하지만 토요일이면 열심히 서울 바닥 어딘가를 휘저었던 그 시절이 생각나기도 한다.

그 시절을 떠오르게 하는 노래 중 하나가 오늘 소개하는

Mary Hopkin의 <Those were the days>

 

 

Mary Hopkin는 1950년 영국에서 태어났다. 이 노래는 원래 러시아 민요인데 Jene Raskin에 의해 영어 가사가 붙혀졌고

Paul McCartney에 의해 프로듀싱되어 Mary Hopkins가 불러 히트를 기록했다.

1968년도 영국 차트 1위를 달성하기도 했다.
